Australia Skilled Independent Visa 189

 

This visa is applicable for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an Australian employer, state or territory or family member.  With this visa, you can live, work and study anywhere in Australia on a permanent basis. In order to qualify for this visa, a skilled worker should have the necessary skills and work experience related to one of the country’s in-demand occupations at the time of application. Other key factors include age (between 18 to 50 years), English language fluency, good health and a clean criminal record. 

 

Visa processing time: From 6-12 months

Australia Skilled Independent Visa 190

 

This visa is applicable for skilled workers who are sponsored by an Australian state or territory. This sponsorship entails certain obligations, such as the requirement to live and work for a minimum of two years in the nominating state and keep the state informed of any changes in address.

Skilled nominated for sponsored 489 Visa

 

This visa is applicable for skilled workers who are nominated by a state or territory to live in a regional or low population growth area. You can also be sponsored by an eligible relative.

In order to qualify for all these visas, you will need the following to be fulfilled:

​

  • Your occupation has to be in demand in one of Australia’s states.

  • Age (between 18 to 50 years),

  • English language fluency,

  • Good health

  • A clean criminal record.

Australian Visit Visa

​

This visa is applicable for travellers planning a short trip to Australia for tourism or business purposes.

Called the Australian Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) visa (subclass 601), it will allow you to stay in the country for three months per visit. You can enter and leave Australia as many times as you like while the visa is valid.

For longer visits, you can apply for Visitor Visa (subclass 600), which allows you to stay in Australia for up to six or 12 months.

This visa does not allow you to work in Australia during your stay.

​

Australian Student Visa

 

The Higher Education Sector Visa (573) is applicable for international students wishing to study at an Australian university. In order to be eligible for this visa, you must have confirmed admission at an Australian university for one of the following: associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree; graduate certificate; graduate diploma; master’s degree (taught/coursework based only); higher education diploma/advanced diploma.

You also have to prove that you can finance your tuition, living costs and travel to and from Australia. You are required to give proof of your English language fluency and medical and criminal record checks.

Under the Genuine Temporary Entrant requirement, you must also satisfy Australian officials that you will return to your home country after your visa has expired.

​

This visa allows you to work for up to 20 hours per week during your study term and full time during holidays.

Family members such as your spouse and children can be included in your visa application. Spouses and children above Australian School Leaving Age, i.e. 15 years old, may also work up to 20 hours a week all year round.
